How can you be Christian if Christianity says that the earth is 6000 years old
By:

We know it's not and you really cannot deny carbon dating and fossil records. How can you justify it, I mean seriously? I'm not trying to be rude, but I'd really like to hear a christian fish out of this one.

I think, that You're wrong.

= )

Well,me personally i can't answer that but there is a scientist who can it's Dr.Kent Hovind. Ofcourse he's in jail for his work on the Christian theory of the earth and all that but go to wikapedia and search him.He has plenty of answers for it. I've only been a Christian for a few months so i can't answer that well but just check him out.

Christianity doesn't say that the world is 6000 years old, only SOME Christians do. Likewise, your reference to OBSOLETE AND OUTMODED law is meaningless. The Law is death, as is outlined by the Apostle Paul in his epistle to the Hebrews.

Christians do not believe that. That is an estimate once made by someone, but we don't have to believe it. It's not like it's part of our religion or something.

You sound just like one of those "Praise Be" lets kill everyone who is different, slaughter the infidel people. Go back to your own playground.

ignorant bliss?

Christianity says that the earth is 6000 years old?

Where pray tell are you getting that from?

You are trying to be rude -and succeeding.

Christianity does not say the earth is 6000 years old. Some mad Americans think that but the vast majority of Christians around the world don't.

They follow the Christian gospel of peace. "Love you neighbour as yourself", "Love one another as I have loved you", "For God is love and he who abides in love abides in God and God abides in him".

Now take your ignorance somewhere else.

Well, I personally can’t explain it to you. However, there is a man by the name of Kent Hovind who does a very good job of explaining this concept. I will add a few links for you; hope this will clarify your concern. Also, I was wondering where in the bible you found those quotes. I have a hard time believing that they are true. It seems that you might have gotten the quotes out of a weird translation or from somebody who did not know what they were talking about. Please let me know, it is really interesting to me. If you could also, add Gen. 1:17. Instead of 1:17. There a lot of quotes in the Bible. Thank You in advance.

I'm not christian, but i asked a christian teacher at my school and he said that in his opinion, Genesis isn't an accurate account, (especially creation) but more of a summary of the events that happened, because of the timing and so on.
There is no denying the dinosaurs and prehistoric animals, so I think he has a good point; that instead of the things in Genesis happening all within a shortish time span, it happened over a long period of time and the chapter is more of a summary.
-
with the verses you are giving, it would be better if you actually gave the chapter title, so that people can look it up; certain verse meanings can differ due to the context they are used in.
-
I honestly doubt some of those verses, I dont think a "loving god" could want that for people he claims to love..by the context i mean does the writer of that chapter claim that god told him to write it, or is that the individuals thoughts and beliefs? I know in Leviticus it says if a girl is raped, she and the rapist must marry and never divorce. for a god to want that, he must be a ******* asshole. I do not think a loving god could want that, so I really think it is the writer's beliefs and not an actual command by a god.

science has proven alot of the bible to be true. they found a scientic reason for all the things that moses(spell) did. aka all because of earth quake. they have proven that the whole planet was under water at one time. they got deffent reasons behind it but still. they have even proven some of jesus "merikles"(spell) and how they have happen

but to tell a christen that we are wrong to do but they are allowed to tell us we are wrong for not beleaveing

Did you know that the Bible does NOT say that the earth is 6,000 years old? Of course not, because if you did, you would know how stupid your question is.

Let me prove my point: How much time elapses between Fen 1:1 and Gen 1:2?

Btw, this is nothing new. Read "The Greatest Book on Dispensational Truth", 1918, by Larkin and enlighten your mind.

So long and good luck crawling back under the rock you came from.

PS: In Larkin's book, the theory is that dinosaurs and Lucifer lived on the earth as happy creatures. But Lucifer, who was given control of the planet, decided to be god. At this time, life on the planet was extinguished and the planet was void.

Thus, God created the heavens and earth - Gen 1:1 (enter Lucifer and the destruction of life on the planet) and the earth was void Gen 1:2.

This allows for the earth to be 4.5billion years old as told to us by scientists and geologists that guess the planet is this old because if it were any other way, then the planet would be young.
